The Cholesterol Con. Coming To A Place Near You?

Strolling down a street the other day I  suddenly caught sight of the above mobile unit, which gave me one of those ''ah!''  moments. of realization. Do the people that visit this set up realize what they could be letting themselves in for when going for a blood cholesterol test?

No doubt, the unit is connected to the medical/pharmaceutical establishment, which asserts that high (and not so high) blood cholesterol levels are indicative of heart disease. Those falling into this category may well be advised to take expensive/invasive cholesterol lowering drugs called statins. These statins are one of big pharma's biggest money spinners. The UK, for example, spends about one billion pounds a year on prescriptions for statins.

Here's are some interesting facts that totally contradict the high cholesterol/heart disease theory.

1. Taking the UK and its six neighboring countries, France has the highest level of blood cholesterol and has the lowest rate of heart disease.

2. The Aborigines have four times more incidence of heart disease than the UK and USA, yet they have the lowest blood cholesterol.

3. A study at Harvard Medical School revealed that women do not benefit at all from statins.

4.
Men over sixty-nine who have never had a heart attack do not benefit: There is only a one in fifty chance of younger men having any benefit. However, the statins are not effective in lowering cholesterol, they work in another way.

5. A 'careful' diet does not lower cholesterol in the blood. The body produces several times more cholesterol than from the food you eat.

5. The degree of atherosclerosis and cholesterol levels in heart patients is not related to a dietary history of animal fat intake.

6.
Statins do not change heart mortality (death rate) or total mortality.

-I could go on, but in short, high cholesterol does NOT cause heart disease, therefore, the whole high cholesterol/heart disease theory is total bunk.
